Jón Ingi Sigurmundsson has been painting the Icelandic landscape for over sixty years. Born in 1934 in southern Iceland, he has developed a distinctive style that combines the richness of traditional oil painting with the delicacy of watercolour.
His work reflects a deep connection to the Icelandic nature — dramatic mountains, peaceful valleys, and the ever-changing light that defines the Icelandic seasons. Despite being in his nineties, he remains active in his studio, creating new works regularly.
Jón Ingi's paintings have been exhibited in numerous galleries and are part of many private collections both in Iceland and abroad.
